The AUBERGINE necklaces are made from real pasta, hand-painted and finished with a coat of mat varnish.
Each necklace is unique and made up of different colours.

Merci au collectif Jeanspezial d'avoir laissé une petite place aux colliers, à la Galerie Issue, rue Quimcampoix paris 4eme, lors de leur exposition en juin dernier.


Merci à Katia Goldmann et Lui, qui lors d'un concert exceptionnel à la Galerie Chappe, nous on demandé de faire une petite installation avec nos colliers de pâtes, ce qui a eu un franc succés.


Encore un grand merci, en espérant qu'il y en ai d'autre...


Aubergine grows up

Many thanks to Jeanspezial for letting us have some wall space to exhibit our necklaces at the Galérie Issue, rue Quincampoix, Paris 4, where their artwork was on show in June.

Many thanks also to Katia Goldmann & Lui who also let us exhibit our pasta necklaces at the Galérie Chappe where they were giving a special concert - it was a great success.

Let's hope there will be many more such occasions ....

Pourquoi un collier de pâtes ?

Le 25 février 2009, veille de l'anniversaire de ma grande soeur, je n'ai pas de sou, et surtout aucune idée cadeau. Que faire???

Ce soir là, première soirée romantique avec Mathieu (mon amoureux), je découvre ses talents de graphiste, des pots de peinture dans une boite à chaussures, une musique plutôt entrainante, et surtout, une boîte de pâtes...

L'idée fuse...
- Mais pourquoi tu ne lui ferais pas un collier de pâtes?
- un collier de pâtes, euhhhhh...

Et nous voilà parti, à peindre nos pâtes, tout en nous racontant des histoires...

Quelques jours plus tard autour d'un verre, fut le moment d'offrir ce collier à ma sœur.
Génial, elle adore.

Puis, le fait d'en porter moi même, d'en offrir à quelques amies, et de voir la réaction des gens, qui étaient tous assez fan du collier, fut une révélation...

Recherche intense du nom pour la marque des colliers, atelier peinture improviser chez moi, chez lui, chez elle, chez eux...

Les colliers sont prêts, et grâce à Mathieu, ma sœur et le soutien de nos amis et de la famille, A U B E R G I N E voit le jour.

Why a necklace made with pasta ?

On 25th February, 2009, the day before my big sister's birthday, I had no money and no ideas for a present for her. So what could I do ?

It was my first romantic evening with Mathieu (my boyfriend) and I discovered not only his talents as a graphic artist, his pots of paint in a shoebox, listening to trendy music but above all, a packet of pasta ...

Ideas erupted from all sides :

- why don't you make a necklace using pasta ?

- a pasta necklace, are you sure !!!

So that was how we started off painting pasta and chatting away together ...

A few days later we were having a drink with my sister and it was the moment to give her the pasta necklace.

It was great 'cos she loved it !

I started wearing one of the necklaces myself and gave some to friends and it was a real revelation to see from people's reactions that they were fans too !

Then came the time to brain storm to find a brand name, followed by improvised paint workshops in my flat, his flat, her flat etc ...

The necklaces were now ready for sale, thanks to Mathieu, my sister and the support of our friends and family, AUBERGINE exists.
